A former soldier's wife has won a record £3.55 million in damages from the Ministry of Defence over the bungled birth of her twin boys.
Lynne Steele, 41, fought the Army's lawyers for 13 years after her sons Shane and Dean suffered brain damage.
The MoD had denied liability and tried to fob Mrs Steele off with a £50,000 one -off payment.
But now the pay-off will be rubber stamped in the High Court in London next week and 18-year-old Shane will receive £1.65 million and his brother Dean £1.9 million.
Lynne, from Blackpool, said: 'We have faced downright denial and prevarication over these long 13 years. In my terms it really has been a Mother of all battles.
'But I wanted justice for my boys and now we have got it.'
The Ministry has admitted that their medical officer Dr Ian Anderson had was negligent and failed in his duty of care to Lynne.
